Hazel Chaffin Galloway

Hazel Chaffin Galloway, age 88 of Pulaski, died Friday afternoon August 7, 2009 in Pulaski Community Hospital. She was born December 7, 1920 in Pulaski County, and was the daughter of the late Alma Josie Hall Chaffin and Hubert Kelly “Happy” Chaffin. Mrs. Galloway was a member of the Anderson Memorial Presbyterian Church and a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Galloway, Jr.; brothers, Charles D. Chaffin, James A. Chaffin, and Kenneth E. Chaffin, and a sister, Virginia C. Haga. She is survived by a son, George W. Galloway, III and his wife Peggy Hall of Dublin; a sister, Betty Jo Chaffin Hughes and her husband Robert of Dublin. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 10, 2009 at 11 a.m. at Thomas M. Seagle & Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Weston Guthrie officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be anytime Monday after 9 a.m. at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. service time. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of memorials to the Anderson Memorial Presbyterian Church 319 Franklin Avenue Pulaski, Virginia 24301.
