Julius Woolen Long. Jr., age 65, of Pulaski passed away Friday, July 17, 2009 in the Pulaski Community Hospital.
Born July 12, 1944 in Pulaski, he was the son of the late Julius Woolen Long Sr. and Callie Belle Brewer Long. He was also preceded in death by one sister Lilly Tabor and half-brother Robert Brewer.
He was a veteran of the United States Army. He served during the Vietnam conflict where he was a prisoner of war for five years.
Surviving are his wife Janice Mitchell Long of Pulaski; his children Connie Blevins and husband Dawes of Pembroke,
Steven Dunford of Pulaski, and Crystal Martin and husband Timmy of Pulaski; five grandchildren Josh Blevins, Megan Blevins, Betsy Blevins, Tanner Martin and Hannah Martin; sisters Judy Gregory of Pulaski, Evelyn Lineberry of Fairlawn, and Faye Hoback and husband Dave of Pulaski; and special friend Delores Martin of Pulaski.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski with Pastor Randall Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Hufford Cemetery, Pulaski with full military honors conducted by the Pulaski V.F.W. Post # 1184.
The family will receive friends Monday evening 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
