Ruby E. Chaconas

Ruby E. Chaconas, 89, of Westminster, died Wednesday, July 8, 2009 at home. Born September 6, 1919 in Riner, VA she was the daughter of the late Talford W. and Delia A. Thompson. She was the wife of the late George J. Chaconas.
She loved animals, roses and being with her family. She had a special love for dogs and horses and enjoyed being a horse owner and riding for many years with her daughters. She enjoyed the summer, and sitting in the warmth of the sun. She had worked as a waitress, homemaker and was a foster parent for many years for Montgomery County.
Surviving are daughters and son-in-law Sandra and Gordon Hottinger, of Frederick, MD; Shirley and Lester Wratchford, of Cabins, WV; Crystal and Daryl Winkler, of Westminster, MD; and Jennifer Chaconas, of Westminster, MD.; grandchildren and spouses, Albert and Debbie Giacalone, Vince Giacalone, of Fort Myers, FL; Bruce and Joyce Hottinger, Bryon and Anne Hottinger, of Frederick, MD; Melissa and Mike Parks, of Gerrardstown, WV, Leslie Wratchford, of Cabins, WV, Brad Alexander and Kristine Stine, of Westminster, MD, Katie & Hunter Nester, of Keedysville, MD.; ten great-grandchildren, Amanda, Albert, Loretta, Anthony, Michael, Kenny, Kelly, Carter, Devin and Emma; sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Arvil Duncan, Brother and sister-in-law, Carl and Arleen Thompson of Radford, VA; numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Cecil Thompson and many cousins.
A private service was held at Resthaven July 9, 2009.
