Plans for new museum nearing completion

The site plan and preliminary drawings for the Town of Pulaski’s new museum are almost complete, a town engineer said Tuesday.
Bill Pedigo said staff has run into several “issues” during development of the site plan, including developing a way to raise the building out of the flood plain.
“We’re going to have to do some filling to get it out,” he told town council. He and Town Manager John Hawley said a three-foot retaining wall will probably need to be built on part of the property in order to meet the fill requirements.
Hawley said the town also will need to begin the process of obtaining an easement from Pulaski County in order to extend sewer service to the museum. It would have to cross a portion of the Maple Shade property when the town recently sold to the county.
