Pulaski police officer resigns amid charges

A Pulaski police officer facing drug charges in two counties, has resigned.
Pulaski Police Chief Gary Roche said Christopher Franklin Bond tendered his resignation this morning. He said the resignation is effective immediately and “concludes a very difficult and embarrassing episode for the members of our agency.”
Bonds was arrested on three drug chargers in Wythe County last Thursday, then had two additional charges filed against him in Carroll County this week.
Roche said the department is in the process of “exploring additional measures to prevent a similar situation from being repeated in the future.
“The men and women of the Pulaski Police Department remain committed to serve the citizens of our community with honesty and integrity,” Roche added.

Bond continues to be held in New River Valley Regional Jail, being held without bond.
