Intoxicated driver hearing delayed

A preliminary hearing for a woman charged with intoxicated driving in a March wreck that injured three juveniles has been postponed to July.
Deborah D’Amico was originally slated to be in Pulaski County General District Court Tuesday morning. However, court records show the hearing has been continued to July 28 at 10 a.m.
D’Amico is charged with a first offense of driving under the influence of alcohol or other self-administered intoxicants, three counts of first offense maiming as the result of intoxicated driving and one count of failing to yield the right of way.
Virginia State Trooper C.T. Keene said the 3:49 p.m. wreck occurred when D’Amico’s Isuzu Trooper SUV pulled into the path of a Mitsubishi Eclipse that was northbound on Route 11.
The officer said D’Amico was attempting to make a left turn onto Route 11 from the Ruebush Road railroad track crossing area on the east side of the highway.
The Eclipse was being driven by a juvenile and also had two juvenile passengers inside. D’Amico’s mother was a passenger in the SUV.
All five people were taken to area hospitals, with one of the juvenile’s suffering a serious head injury.
