Lynne Dawn Carver McNeil, age 64 of Pulaski passed away Sunday, June 7, 2009 at her home surrounded by her family.
Born February 19, 1945 in Rochester, PA, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Thelma Regina Erlwein Carver. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Ronnie Carver and one niece, Pamela Thompson. She was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter. She served as a moral compass, a beacon of hope and constant source of support to each person she touched. She was a member of the St. Elias Maronite Catholic Church, Roanoke. She was a self taught artist specializing in florals, landscapes and wildlife. She has been a member & featured artist at the Fine Arts Center for the New River Valley, a member of the New River Arts Council and Women in the Arts, Washington, D.C. Surviving are her husband of 44 years Henry Hank McNeil, Pulaski; son & daughter-in-law Henry Robert "Scotty" McNeil & Allyson McNeil, Montana; daughters and sons-in-law Megan Mary Arnold & Chris Arnold, Pulaski, Theresa Anne Newcomb & Larry Newcomb, Dublin, Mary Regina Baron & Rob Baron, Radford; Rita Marie McNeil, Pulaski; her thirteen adored grandchildren Shamus McNeil; Erin, Clayton, Gwendolynne and Jonah Arnold; Anna, Christian, Layla and Maya Newcomb; Robyn, Collin, Seth and Michael Baron, sisters & brothers-in-law; Pat & Larry Thompson, MI; Nancy Connor, OH; Pamela & Chris Christopher, OH, and Melissa & Daryl DeGuire,WI; brothers & sisters-in-law Dr. Jimmy Carver & Dr. Susan Carver, OH; Terry & Kathleen Carver, KS; Bradley & Judy Carver, WI, mother-in-law Rita McNeil, OH; brothers-in-law & sisters-in -law Michael & Kathy McNeil, OH; Timothy & Marty McNeil, OH.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, June 10, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bob White Blvd. Pulaski.
A Funeral Liturgy will be held on 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 11, at St. Elias Catholic Maronite Catholic Church, 4730 Cove Road, N.W., Roanoke, with Father Claude Franklin officiating. Interment will follow at St. Andrews Diocesan Cemetery, 3601 Salem Turnpike N.W. Roanoke, VA. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials may be sent to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Research Fund, P.O. Box 650309, Dallas,TX 75265-0309
