Huber presented with ‘Advocate Award’

Pulaski County Administrator Peter Huber is the recipient of the Virginia Extension Association of Family & Consumer Science’s (VEAFCS) prestigious “Advocate Award.”
The award was presented to Huber for his “significant contributions to family and consumer sciences educational programs and extension faculty in Virginia.” It was presented at the annual conference at the Charlottesville DoubleTree Hotel, Tuesday, May 12.
Huber has served as a member of the Pulaski County Extension Family and Consumer Sciences Advisory Committee, and as a member and current chair of the Virginia Cooperative Extension Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Leadership Council.
Karen Gehrt, associate director for family and consumer sciences with VCE said, “Peter Huber advocates strongly at local and state levels for family and consumer science programs as part of the solution in addressing current and future community needs of families and youth. Further, he understands how to articulate the benefits or public value that strong families have in building strong communities.” Mr. Huber epitomizes the Advocate Award and we’re grateful for his time and talents, said Sarah Burkett, senior extension agent for FCS Pulaski County.
