Fairlawn Bank of America robbed

A woman made away with an undisclosed amount of money late Thursday afternoon during a robbery at Bank of America on Pepper’s Ferry Boulevard in Fairlawn.
Pulaski County Sheriff Jim Davis said the woman handed a teller a threatening note but she never actually displayed a weapon during the 4:45 p.m. heist. She fled on foot headed in the direction of Montgomery County, along Pepper’s Ferry Boulevard.
“She could have easily had a car parked (in the neighboring mall’s) parking lot,” Davis said.
The investigation is continuing today.
“This morning we’re working on obtaining good (surveillance) footage from the various businesses,” the sheriff said Friday.
The suspect is described as being a stocky five-foot, five-inch tall white female in her late 20s. Her dark hair was pulled back into a ponytail and appeared to be about shoulder length. She was wearing a green baseball cap with sunglasses on top of the cap.
The suspect was last seen wearing faded blue jeans and a dark blue or green V-neck sweatshirt or sweater.
The sheriff said deputies were on the scene within minutes.
Employees were held at the bank for a period of time after the robbery to provide police with as much information as possible about the suspect and the robbery.
Officers spent most of the evening collecting evidence and investigating the scene.
