David Wyrough, 7/7/26 – 4/25/09 passed away Saturday April 25, 2009 in Orlando, FL. He will be remembered forever for his devotion to his family. He was born July 7, 1926 to the late James Michael and Anna Rae (Burkhart) Wyrough in Altoona, PA. David was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather (ìBumpaî). After his family, his passion was woodworking, solving problems, building and fixing anything and everything. David was predeceased by his wife, Joanne, on Oct. 21, 2007 and is survived by his six children: Michael & Ann (McGinnis) Wyrough of Rochester, NY, Anne OBrien and Gregg Wright of Roxboro, NC, Mary & Peter Cretekos of Poughquag, NY, Susan & Victor Thomas of Orlando, FL, Louie Jarvis of Owego, NY and Jim & Jeanne (Lehman) Wyrough of Owego, NY.
David served in the US Army in Germany during the Korean War. He earned his engineering degree from Penn State and worked for several companies prior to moving to Wellsville in 1967 to work for Air Preheater Company. He and Joanne lived in Wellsville 30 years prior to moving to Pulaski, VA in 1997.
The family will have a private mass at Holy Cross Church on Tuesday, April 28, in Orlando, FL. A memorial service will follow in Pulaski, VA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made in the form of donations to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Foundation. Arrangements are being handled by Family Funeral Care, 13001 S. John Young Parkway, Orlando, FL.
