Reba Harris Bocock

Reba Harris Bocock, 89 of Snowville took her place on the "Heavenly Express" on Thursday morning, March 27, 2009 and was delivered into the loving arm of her Savior. Reba was the daughter of the late L. Jordan & Daisy Wilson Harris. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond E. Bocock, and a brother Arbra (Bud) Harris. Surviving is a sister, Ruth H. Quesenberry Phillips of Snowville. Also surviving are her children Annie & husband Gene Akers, Snowville, Jordan (J.D.) Bocock and wife Anne of Sykesville, Md., Mary & husband George Akers, Sr., of Snowville; grandchildren Pamela B. & husband Scott Harris of Md., George Akers, Jr. & wife Freddi of Snowville; Robin & husband Samuel Lucas of Christiansburg; Drury Bocock of Md., Lori & husband David Phillips of Snowville; Scott Akers & wife Jennifer of Radford, Adam Akers, Snowville; George & Mike Culler of Md.; great-grandchildren Cody & Derek Akers; Julia & John Lucas; Christopher, Jordan, R.J. & Emily Phillips; Ryan Spangler-Akers, Kayden, Erika & Michaela Akers; Jimmy & Betsy Harris; Katie Culler; two nephews Don Harris & MIke Quesenberry, & six nieces.
Prior to transferring to her membership to Snowville Christian Church, Reba was a member of Graysontown United Methodist Church where she served as Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, VBS Teacher, Women’s group chair & Official Board Chair. After the close of Graysontown UMC, she became actively involved in the life and ministry of Snowville Christian Church. She loved her family, life and people in general. Through her lifetime, she has been an inspiration to many.
A time of visitation will be held Sunday evening March 29, 2009 from 6-8:00 p.m. at the Devilbiss Funeral Home in Grove Avenue in Radford. A memorial service celebrating her life will be led by the Reverend Jonathan Webster at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 30, 2009 at the Snowville Christian Church. There will also be a time for visitation prior to the service. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family wishes to thank Dr. Allen Tauro & the staff of the CCU Unit of CNRVMC for excellent care they provided. Donations may be made in Reba’s memory to Snowville Christian Church in care of Mrs. Willam Guill, 906 Robertson Street, Radford, Va. 24141 or to the American Cancer Society.
