Va. State Police seek help in locating Hackney

The Virginia State Police is seeking the public’s help in locating a man wanted in connection with a double homicide at The Homestead this past weekend.
Beacher Ferrel Hackney has not been seen since he allegedly entered the kitchen of the Bath County resort March 21 and shot two of his supervising co-workers.
Hackney is wanted on charges of capital murder and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony.
According to police Hackney has known ties to West Virginia.
He is described as a white male, five-foot, six-inches tall, 145 pounds, with brown hair and eyes. His date of birth is Feb. 10, 1950.
Anyone having information on Hackney or his whereabouts is asked to contact the Virginia State Police Fusion Center at 877-4VA-TIPS (877-482-8477); fill out a Suspicious Incident Report at www.vsp.state.va.us/FusionCenter; or call Bath County Sheriff’s Office at (540) 839-2375.
The Virginia Fusion Center was created to improve Virginia’s preparedness against terrorist attacks. It is the primary resource for exchanging critical information among local, state and national homeland security, law enforcement and intelligence agencies.
