Jim Perry named new Publisher of The Southwest Times

Jim Perry, a veteran of 30 years in the newspaper business, has been named publisher of the Southwest Times.
“We are here to provide an excellent daily newspaper for Pulaski County,” Perry said. “At the end of the day, we want to be accurate, informative and relevant so our readers can make informed decisions, be enlightened, entertained and even amused. We will provide a forum for thought-provoking opinions.”
An Oklahoma native who comes to Pulaski County from central Arkansas, Perry replaces Mike Williams, who resigned this week.
Perry has served as publisher of several community daily newspapers including the Benton Courier in Benton, Ark. and the Daily Commercial, a 32,000 circulation community newspaper in Leesburg, Fla. Perry was in Hope, Ark. for 11 years as publisher of the Hope Star. He also managed weekly community newspapers in Eureka Springs, Berryville, Yellville and Mountain Home, Ark.
Perry is in the process of relocating to Pulaski County, where he will be joined by his wife, Lisa.
“My family and I are very excited to call Pulaski County our home,” Perry said.
“My number one priority is to make the local newspaper the best it can be. It is truly an honor to be affiliated with The Southwest Times. This newspaper has a rich history and has won numerous awards for serving this community.”
