Hazel Lucille (French) Hall, 81, widow of Paul Irvin Hall, Jr., of 120 Waverley Green, died Saturday, March 21, 2009 at her residence She was born October 17, 1927 in Pulaski, a daughter of the late Harvey William and Daisy (Shepard) French. Prior to retirement, Mrs. Hall was employed by Arlington Hospital as a Nurse’s Aide. She was a member of the Staunton Church of the Brethren and Mary Martha’s Circle. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Thomas, Samuel, Robert and Frank French; and two sisters, Mildred Daniels and Parthenia French. Family members include a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Park Thompson of Staunton; three grandchildren, Shaun and Evan Thompson of Staunton and Dana Smith of Texas; and three great grandchildren, Garrett and Tyler Smith and Taylor Thompson.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, March 27, 2009, in the Henry Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Scott L. Duffey. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. in Oakwood Cemetery, Pulaski. Active pallbearers will be Shaun Thompson and Evan Thompson. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Thursday, March 26, 2009, in the funeral home and other times at the home of her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Park Thompson, 685 New Hope Road, Staunton. Memorials may be made to the Staunton Church of the Brethren, 1615 North Coalter Street, Staunton, Va. 24401.
