Max Shelor

Max Shelor, 93, passed away Monday, Feb. 9, 2009 at his home in Radford. He was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy where he taught Sunday school for over 20 years. He was a retired supervisor at Lynchburg Foundry with 44 years of service. He was an avid hunter and woodworker. Survivors include his wife of 70 years Elsie U. Shelor of Radford; two sons Curtis and Stephanie Shelor of Pulaski and David and Kitty Shelor of Radford; seven grandchildren, Debra Hoover, Joan Able, Kim Lytton, David Shelor, Jr., William Shelor, Brent Shelor, and Jason Williams; and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, Feb. 11, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. at the Church of God of Prophecy with Rev. Cecil Frazier, Rev. Tom Warren and Rev. Sam Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the West View Cemetery in Radford. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. at the church.
