Shaver pleads guilty

In Pulaski County Circuit Court Wednesday, a Dublin man pleaded guilty to two felony charges involving child molestation.
Thomas Bliss Shaver, 68, of 6020 Patrick Ave. in Dublin, pleaded guilty to two counts of aggravated sexual battery against a child under the age of 13.
According to a report from Commonwealth’s Attorney Mike Fleenor in the courtroom on Wednesday, the assault took place during the summer of 2007 at a daycare run by Shaver’s wife at their Dublin residence, in which a number of children were supervised during the daytime hours.
Fleenor said that at a later date, the child who was assaulted, a young female under the age of 13, reported the incident.
On Wednesday, Judge Robert Turk informed Shaver that he could potentially receive a sentence of 20 years in prison for each charge, totaling a maximum sentence of 40 years in prison.
After a pre-sentence report is completed, Shaver’s sentencing will take place on April 15 at 1 p.m. in the Pulaski County Circuit Court.
