Dublin Fire Department warns of possible scam

Local citizens should be cautious of a possible scam.
Dublin Fire Chief Ronnie McClure said he received a report from a Town of Dublin employee who got a call from someone impersonating a member of the Dublin Fire Department.
The person said they were collecting money for the fire department and asked for a donation.
However, when the town employee asked about the caller’s identity, the caller hung up the phone.
According to McClure, the Dublin Fire Department is not soliciting donations over the phone, so any calls of that nature should be ignored.
To report information regarding this possible scam, contact the Dublin Fire Department at 674-6890.
