Pulaski police issue warning

The Pulaski Police Department has received two complaints of incidents involving people posing as public works employees and obtaining entry into the homes of elderly individuals.
According to Police Chief Gary Roche, the two suspects knocked on the door of the victims’ houses and offered excuses to get inside: needing to check on their water pressure or needing to inspect their sewer pipes.
He said one of the suspects distracts the victim while the other individual looks for valuables.
The suspects are described as:
• A short Hispanic male with short black hair, wearing a jacket and blue jeans, and approximately 23 years of age.
• A white male, taller than the other suspect, approximately 23 years of age, short brown hair, wearing a light jacket and blue jeans.
Residents should note that all town public works employees wear Town of Pulaski uniforms and have identification cards. In addition, there is a contractor in town that is installing new water meters. This company’s name is Matchpoint, and their employees will be wearing blue jackets bearing the company logo.
Neither employees of the town nor the contractor will request to enter into a residence.
Anyone approached in this manner should not allow the individuals into the residence and should call 911 immediately. It would be helpful if a description of the suspects could be noted, as well as any vehicle that might be in the vicinity, Roche said.
