Oak Hill, Hargrave to play exhibition at PCHS

Two teams annually loaded with Division I basketball recruits, the Oak Hill Academy Warriors and the postgraduate squad of the Hargrave Military Academy Tigers, will play an exhibition basketball game on Thursday, Oct. 23 at the Pulaski County High School gym.
Hargrave is coached by Kevin Keatts and carries 12 players on their roster. All 12 are currently being recruited by Division I teams.
Recruits include 6-9 Deshawn Painter who has committed to the Florida, 6-5 guard Maurice Creek, a commitment to Indiana, 6-8 Chris Braswell to UNC — Charlotte, 6-5 guard Freddie Riley to U-Mass while 6-9 Alex Newsome has committed to Navy. One name locally recognized is 6-5 guard Luke Hancock, a recent graduate from Hidden Valley High School.
Oak Hill is coached by Steve Smith and is annually ranked in the USA Today Top 20 poll. The Warriors are led by 6-9 320-pound senior Keith “Tiny” Gallon. Tiny has garnered interest from Mississippi State, Oklahoma and California.
Tiny may be the biggest but not the tallest on the Oak Hill squad. The title of tallest goes to 6-11 Baye Moussu Keita. Keita has expressed interest in Syracuse.
Oak Hill also has four heavily recruited guards, though being juniors, will have to wait another year before they can commit. Watch for 6-4 Doron Lamb, 6-2 Pe’shon Howard, 6-3 Bryon Allen, and New York native Lamont “MoMo” Jones.
Jones is being recruited by Cincinnati, UNC — Charlotte and Virginia Tech.
Lamb, also from New York, is rated as one of the top 15 prospects of the 2010 class.

Tickets for the Oct. 23 game are $5. So come out and support the Cougar Basketball team and see what should be a high scoring, high flying affair.
