Christmas Store deadline Thursday

The Pulaski County Christmas Store will be holding their final sign-up event on Thursday, Oct. 16.
The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. at Central Gym in Pulaski.
Pulaski County Christmas Store organizers said that numbers have been down this year in regards to people signing up, so they want to make sure they will have given everyone who needs help an opportunity to sign up.
Given the current economic situation, Christmas Store organizers say they are concerned they may be missing some families who will need their help this holiday season.
Last year, the Christmas Store provided Christmas gifts for 949 children in Pulaski County.
Individuals seeking assistance from the Christmas Store must bring a completed application and appear in person for a face to face interview on Thursday night.
During this time, each child’s needs will be discussed.

The Pulaski County Christmas Store is a program that evolved from the Christmas Caravan and Bike Drive, which were projects of the Dublin Town Police Department and the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Office, that provided Christmas gifts for children who might not otherwise receive any, due to financial constraints.
In 2004, current members of the Christmas Store team decided that in order to serve more families, it would be a good idea to consolidate all of the programs that hold gift drives for children, thus the Pulaski County Christmas Store was formed.
