Radford man’s body found floating in river

The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department is investigating the death of a Radford man whose body was found floating in the New River Saturday.
Sheriff Jim Davis said two fishermen near Bisset Park saw a body floating on the Pulaski County side of the river around 2:15 p.m. Saturday.
In addition to the sheriff’s department, Davis said the Radford City Police Department and fire and rescue personnel from Radford City and Pulaski County responded to the men’s 911 call.
The body of 32-year-old Justin Edward Roach was recovered a short time later.
Davis said Roach was last seen by some friends in the Fairlawn area around 11 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 1.
There was no sign of foul play, according to Davis, but an investigation is continuing.
Roach’s body has been sent to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.
