PCHS Players to perform ‘Willy Wonka’

The PCHS Players will present “Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory” beginning this Saturday, Oct. 4, at 7:30 p.m. in the Little Theater at Pulaski County High School.
Other performances will be Thursday, Oct. 9, at 4:30 p.m. and Saturday Oct. 11, at 2:30 and 7:30 p.m.
The play is based on the classic children’s book by Roald Dahl. This is a new musical version for the stage, but based on the 1970’s film with the original music by Leslie Bricusse. It includes “Cheer Up, Charlie”, “I’ve Got a Golden Ticket”, and “The Candy Man.”
Cast members (some roles are double cast) include: Hayes Owens as Willy Wonka, Devin Altizer as Candy Man/narrator/Phineas Trout, Thomy Owens as Slugworth, Josh Worrell and J.R. Ratcliff as Mr. Salt, Josh Worrell and John Greene as Mike Teavee, Ryan Blose as Charlie Bucket, Chris Amsel as Mr. Bucket, Emily Landreth as Mrs. Bucket, Jadea Finley as Grandma Josephina, Moriah Coleman as Grandma Georgina, Harrison duPlessis as Grandpa George, Andrew Mousouris as Grandpa Joe, Kirsty Spiker as Jenny, Bria Cruise as Matilda, Brian Snider as Augustus Gloop, Marissa Clark as Mrs. Gloop, Kaity Albert and Amber Estes as Veruca Salt, Meghan Ratcliffe and Hayle Barbour as Violet Beauregarde, Roland Tucker as Mr. Beauregarde, Eileen Yost and Jordyn Collins as Mrs. Teavee, Jordanne Lambert, Chelsea Testerman, Jordan Price and Becky Hall as ensemble/squirrel, Megan Altizer as ensemble/Oompa Loompa, Brenna Viet as Oompa Loompa/squirrel, Ashlee Linkous, Casey Gibbs, John Hicks, Jordan Price, Becky Patten, and Bekah Nester as Oompa Loompas.
Director is Jeff McCoy and student directors are Josh Richards and Jen Goldstein.
Stage manager is Jordan Phillips.
Lights and sound will be controlled by Ian Simpkins and John Simpkins, and backstage managers include Mallory Webb and Aja Wood.
Tickets are $7 for adults and $5 for children, students, and senior citizens. Family packages are available at $20 for two adults and four children (a $14 savings) or $10 for one adult and two children (a $7 savings).
Season packages are $35 for adults for all seven shows, plus the one act (a savings of $14) and $20 for children, students, and senior citizens (a savings of $15).
This season’s plays will include “A Christmas Carol,” “Anne of Green Gables,” “Blue’s Clues Live,” “Into the Woods,” “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Magician’s Nephew,” and “The Wizard of Oz.”
