Pa. company will open facility in Pulaski County

PULASKI COUNTY — A Pennsylvania company that manufactures lead-acid batteries and accessories has decided to open a service and repair facility in Pulaski County.
East Penn Manufacturing Co., Inc., will initially employ four people at the plant that will be in an approximately 24,000-square-foot facility in the Wurno Warehouses.
According to a press release issued by Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce, “East Penn is a progressive and independent force in the lead-acid battery, battery accessory and wire and cable industry.”
It manufactures batteries and accessories “for automotive, telecommunications, marine, commercial, industrial and stationary markets.”
The company makes thousands of different-size lead-acid batteries, wires, cables and other accessories “for virtually any application,” the release states. The local facility will service and repair batteries used in mining equipment.
The press release goes on to say that “East Penn (since 1946) has developed an enviable reputation for world-class quality products made in their state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities.”
The company has been recognized in its home state of Pennsylvania as one of the “Best Places to Work” for seven consecutive years, according to the chamber. “This success is the result of treating their employees with respect and fairly rewarding them for their efforts with competitive wages, benefits, profit sharing and the opportunity to work in safe, clean, and technologically-advanced facilities.”
