2 hurt in fights in City of Radford

RADFORD — One victim is in critical condition and a second had to undergo surgery in connection with separate fights in Radford Sunday.
According to a Radford Department of Police press release, the two early morning incidents are believed to be unrelated.
In the first incident, officers responded to the 1000 Block of Stockton Street around 2:30 a.m. in response to a report of a fight.
Police said multiple assailants were involved in the assault. The victim required surgery to his eye which was injured during the altercation.
The names of those involved are not being released at this time, but this case is under investigation.
At 6:15 a.m. Sunday morning, Radford officers responded to the 400 building of Hunters Ridge Apartments for another fight call.
Upon their arrival, officers found a 21-year-old male unconscious from a head injury. The victim was transported to Roanoke Memorial Hospital and is listed in critical condition.
The suspect was identified and interviewed at the scene, but the names of the suspect and victim are not being released by police at this time.
