Body still not ID’d

RADFORD — The identity still has not been confirmed for a body found off Main Street in Radford on July 4.
According to Detective Chris Caldwell with the Radford City Police Department, a Roanoke medical examiner is consulting with a forensic anthropologist before making a ruling on the identity.
Police believe the body may be that of Thurston Sutphin, a Pulaski man who went missing in early June.
Sutphin was last seen in the Radford area June 7. He reportedly left from his Pulaski residence about 9 a.m. that day, and local police thought he might be disoriented and have trouble walking.
According to Radford police, the body was found behind 113 W. Main St., near the Sonic restaurant, about 7:30 p.m. Foul play is not suspected.
