M’s lose four players

PULASKI — The Pulaski Mariners are only in their first season, and already players are making some noise. The team is within shouting distance of divisional leading Danville, and several players are already being promoted.
Top pitcher Kenn Kasparek has been bumped up to Single-A Everett. Kasparek led the team with three wins, and was among the league leaders in strikeouts.
Also, pitcher Jose Jimenez was promoted to Single-A High Desert, and reliever Jeff Dunbar is headed to Single-A Wisconsin. Dunbar had become an interesting story as this is his first full year as a pitcher after being on the other end of the battery. For the past two years, Dunbar was a catcher. This season, he had picked up three saves and a modest 2.45 ERA, walking two and striking out 13.
But the biggest mover is shortstop Deybis Benitez who is being shipped to Triple-A Tacoma. He is batting .306, and has become a valuable commodity up the middle for the Mariners. He has only committed two errors this season.
