Dugspur man admits his part in conspiracy

ROANOKE — A Dugspur man Monday admitted his part in a federal drug distribution conspiracy.
Steven Wayne Sowers, 31, pled guilty in U.S. District Court in Roanoke to taking part in a conspiracy to distribute methamphetamine, according to Acting United States Attorney Julia C. Dudley.
“Thanks to the men and women who investigated this case, these dealers of large amounts of methamphetamine are off our streets,” Dudley said. “I want to thank everyone who helped investigate and prosecute these defendants.”
Sowers pled guilty to one count of participating in a conspiracy to distribute more than 50 grams of a substance containing methamphetamine.
Sowers, Walter Miguel Osuna Guzman, 31, Aaron W. Crockett, 45, of Fancy Gap and Bobby Joe Huff, 64, of Dugspur, were indicted Sept. 6, 2007.
Osuna Guzman, Crockett and Huff were charged with conspiracy to distribute more than 500 grams of methamphetamine.
On May 27, 2008, both Huff and Crockett pled guilty to their charge.
The two will have separate sentencing hearings on Aug. 19.
No sentencing date has been released for Sowers.
