Quilt show/sale underway

NEWBERN — Whether you’re a quilting expert or novice, the Wilderness Road Regional Museum’s “Heritage Quilt Show and Sale” is worth a visit.
From now until Friday, July 4, the museum will be filled with quilts galore, both for display and for sale.
More than 20 of the quilts, ranging in patterns from blue jeans to Victorian fans, are on display in one side of the museum (17 of which were created by Anna Handy of Radford), while 10 others, including a quilt inspired by the tragedy at Virginia Tech on April 16, 2007, are for sale on the other side of the museum.
In addition, there are crocheted baby blankets, lace and vintage needlework, quilt tops, wall hangings, pillows, quilt racks, and instructional quilting books and videos available for purchase.
Admission to the museum is free.
The Wilderness Road Regional Museum is located at 5240 Wilderness Road in Newbern and is open Monday through Friday, 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
