School Board honors Vansant

PULASKI — Libby Vansant, assistant superintendent of administration for Pulaski County Public Schools, was honored with a resolution from the Pulaski County School Board during its most recent meeting.
The resolution states:
“Be it known to all persons that we, the members of the Pulaski County School Board here assembled on this 26th day of June 2008, do hereby pay tribute to the innumerable contributions made to the lives of students, parents and staff members in Pulaski County by Libby Vansant, teacher and administrator for Pulaski County Public Schools.
“Whereas, Libby Vansant has brought great distinction to various schools in PCPS in the 38 years she has been a teacher, guidance counselor and administrator;
“Whereas, Libby Vansant has served as a teacher at Newbern Elementary School, a guidance counselor at Critzer and Jefferson Elementary Schools and as a Title I supervisor;
“Whereas Libby Vansant served as assistant principal at Dublin Elementary School and principal at Claremont and Riverlawn Elementary Schools;
“Whereas Libby Vansant has served as the administrative assistant to the superintendent, the executive director for administration and the assistant superintendent for administration;
“Whereas Libby Vansant, in her most recent position in the central office for PCPS has interpreted and written policy, handled complaints, coached and mentored principals and others, served on numerous committees and teams, and written and spoken on behalf of the superintendent and school board;
“Now therefore be it resolved that we, the members of the PCSB do gratefully acknowledge the contributions of Libby Vansant, extend to her our warmest and most sincere gratitude on her considerable accomplishments and contributions to the lives of students, parents, teachers and other staff members in Pulaski County and extend our best wishes to her for success in other endeavors yet to come in her life.”
