ADRL returning to Motor Mile Dragway

O’FALLON, MO — The hottest series in motorsports is returning to Motor Mile Dragway in Radford, Virginia, July 4-5, as the Flowmaster American Drag Racing League (ADRL) presented by the National Guard will stage the 2nd annual Shelor Motor Mile Independence Drags presented by Toyota, its fourth of nine national events this year.
With new track attendance records established at each venue visited this year, the ADRL is gaining momentum that promises to continue at Radford. Response to the inaugural Independence Drags was so impressive that track officials have added a new grandstand near the starting line to accommodate even more fans this year.
"We’re very excited to be going back to Radford and I know our racers look forward to competing there, too. It’s a first-rate facility in a
beautiful setting with great amenities for racers and fans alike,” ADRL President Kenny Nowling said. "It’s great to see the management at Motor Mile Dragway committing to the future like this; it can only get bigger and better."
The ADRL includes four eighth-mile professional drag racing classes: Pro Extreme Motorcycle, Extreme 10.5, Pro Nitrous and Pro Extreme, the quickest and fastest full-bodied drag racing cars in the world. They combine to create the ADRL’s unique blend of "Adrenaline on Asphalt" with cars capable of reaching more than 200 miles per hour in less than 3.8 seconds—in just 660 feet from a standing start!
In addition to thrilling on-track action, the ADRL Independence Drags will feature a custom car show, a July 4th tribute with support from series sponsor the National Guard and an extensive fireworks show at the conclusion of Friday night’s qualifying session.
Complimentary tickets are being distributed throughout the Southwest Virginia region and are available through the Motor Mile Dragway box office. All tickets include pit access and a free copy of Adrenaline, the official publication of the ADRL (while supplies last). For more information on the American Drag Racing League, visit online at www.ADRL.us.
