Dublin Town Council meets on Thursday

DUBLIN — The Dublin Town Council will hold its monthly meeting on Thursday, June 19, at 7 p.m. at the Dublin Town Hall.
At the top of the agenda is a public hearing regarding the town’s upcoming budget for fiscal year 2008-09.
Members of the community wishing to address the board about their concerns related to the Town of Dublin’s budget are encouraged to do so at this time.
In addition to reports from town officials, along with committee reports from members of the council, the following items are listed on the agenda as “new business:”
• a special presentation to Samuel Gregory, whose position on the board will be filled starting next month by Edith Hampton;
• approval of a resolution regarding acceptance of the fiscal year 2008-09 budget;
• selection of an accounting firm to serve as auditor for 2008-09;
• re-appointment of town positions for 2008-09;
• consideration of a vice mayor;
• consideration of newly-elected officers for the Dublin Fire Department; and
• administering the oaths of office for newly-elected council members, including David Shrewsbury, Doug Irvin and Hampton.
